I don’t think there’s any doubt that the Game of the Week this week will be the Heat (27-7) at the Lakers (20-14) on Sunday at 3:30 PM ET.
It’s the perennial playoff machine trying to climb back to the top against the “Big Three,” the “Threetles,” or the three hottest stars in the NBA right now, whatever you want to call them.
King James, D-Wade and crew will be trying to keep their defensive minded team sailing through the regular season while Kobe and company will be fighting to show that they are still playoff contenders despite the loss of some key pieces to the Lakers puzzle, not the least of which was mastermind motivator and coach Phil Jackson.
To add some fuel to the fire, Kobe Bryant sustained a broken nose and a minor concussion after being fouled hard by Wade in a rare show of defense in the All-Star game.
Call me crazy, but I’d watch for a flagrant retalliation by the Lakers against either Lebron or D-Wade during this matchup.
This game is sure to be full of action and with this many headlines in play and this many stars on the court, you won’t want to miss it.
